Now the fifth largest life insurance company in the US, Lincoln National, paid out 163% more for deaths of working people ages 18-64 in 2021 . Total claims and benefits up $6 billion. "The total loss ratio was 88% in the current quarter compared to 87% in the prior year quarter, with the increase driven by unfavourable non-pandemic related morbidity and unusual claims adjustments."
