"In a really encouraging manner, Alberta's Premier Danielle Smith has made good on her promise to restructure the leadership of Alberta Health Services by dismissing eleven members of the board that oversees the department.

"On Thursday afternoon, Smith made the announcement that Dr. John Cowell will be taking over as administrator of the board, a position that Cowell has previously held.

"During a press conference, Smith stated that 'He can hasten the improvements that we all need to see.'"
