While Canadians were distracted by the Covid pandemic in November 2020, the Liberal Government signed a World Economic Forum-initiated Charter. The Agile Nations Charter will facilitate agile 'rule-making' outside of Parliament. The other countries involved include Denmark, Italy, Japan, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Under this initiative, "streamlining regulations will allow the proliferation of new technologies, which the World Economic Forum identifies in its Agile toolkits as gene editing, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and autonomous vehicles." These are all part of WEF's 'Fourth Industrial Revolution' manifesto.
