The EMA Inquiry: Shocking truth? – Highly anticipated findings to be revealed on February 20.
"The Public Order Emergency Commission, tasked with investigating the Trudeau government's decision to use the Emergencies Act to quell the "Freedom Convoy" protests that took place in Ottawa last winter, has been granted an extension for submitting its findings. The Liberal government invoked the Emergencies Act on February 14, 2022, granting police and governments exceptional powers to limit protesters' rights to assembly and freeze their bank accounts. Apparently, these measures were aimed at clearing the demonstrations and preventing protesters from returning. And as the whole country holds its breath, the Emergencies Act commission prepares to deliver a report that will change the course of history. On February 20th, the findings of months of tireless investigation and analysis will finally be unveiled, shedding light on the events that have shaken the Canadian capital to its core.
"Due to the complexities of the situation, the commission, led by Justice Paul Rouleau, has requested additional time to complete its report. According to a spokesperson for the commission, it requires more time to provide its findings in both official languages to the government. The initial deadline for submitting the report was set for February 6, but the government has modified the order-in-council to extend it to February 20."
