The Great Reset: The UK digital pound unveiled – CBDC rollout timeline & design details.
"The UK is moving forward with the rollout of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), with the Bank of England's Deputy Governor for Financial Stability, Jon Cunliffe, outlining the next steps in the process. The next two to three years will be spent on the detailed policy and technical development of the digital pound, including the creation of a technical blueprint. This will inform a decision on whether or not to proceed with a full implementation of the digital pound, which could be introduced in the second half of the decade, potentially as early as 2025. The digital pound will be a partnership between the central bank and the private sector, with the Bank providing the digital pound and central infrastructure, while private sector firms offer wallets and payment services. These wallets will be operated on a 'pass-through' basis."
