The Farmers Protest: A stunning VICTORY for the Dutch farmers in the senate election – PM Mark Rutte will be handcuffed in parliamentary proceedings.

A prediction that Dutch PM Mark Rutte's ruling four party coalition will not last after what became a referendum on the leadership of the Netherlands' longest-serving prime minister. A possible general election is expected to be called before the end of the year.

The Farmer-Citizen Movement (BBB-*) improved their senate seats to 17 after all votes were counted. If a general election is held today the Farmers-Citizen Movement will take first place with the latest Peil polling shows a surge to 33 seats with roughly 22% of the eligible voters in the Netherlands.
