"In a rather unthinkable manner, the Trudeau Liberals have rejected an amendment that would have protected user-generated content on online platforms from the possible overreach of the federal government through its Bill C-11 legislation.
"In other words, the Liberals just excluded your user content from Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission regulation. Your podcasts? They would be CRTC-regulated. Your TikTok? They also would be potentially regulated.
"The Liberals' decision has once again left many Canadian content creators feeling frustrated and concerned about the future of their work."
