The Great Reset: Kill switches – Control system to override you and disable your car by 2026.

Don't forget, if you have one of the 'latest' car models you are 'constantly connected, constantly monitored, constantly monitoring and constantly reporting your driving activities, text messages, conversations and biometrics.'

Comment in the video:

@thedearjohnblog: "I spent more than a decade fighting whoever ‘they’ are over a matter completely unrelated to cars/tech. But what I learned was that whenever you see a gov proposal/bill, you should ignore the advertised purpose – it’s never about that. Always ask what ELSE might this power/ capability be used for? That’ll invariably get you closer to the truth."

@brutusoftoy2810: "This will clearly be used to restrict people's mobility if you publicly dissent against government policy."

@stooCambridgeArtist: "As someone who was once a cheer leader for new technology, having grown up in the 80s, did the whole bedroom coding thing, and went on to be a full time game developer, I've come to realize as I've aged that all this tech is slowly forming a network of enslavement. It all sounds so lovely on the surface, but once you're awake it's hard not to see where this is leading humanity. Joining the dots one at a time."

@robertgelson: "Same here – grew up in the 80s with the BBC B, played most of your Amiga games in the 90s, work with tech now. Can clearly see tech being used to enable massive over reach by the 'powers that shouldn't be' into all of our lives. What used to be both fun and an enabler for creativity is becoming a slowly tightening noose."

@davem9208: "The idea of a "Kill switch" would be an ideal way of enforcing the 15-minute city concept as, were you to exceed your allowed 100 journeys a year outside of your 15-minute city, area your car would just stop or, as you have pointed out, may just automatically return to your reg. address. Even if you had good reason to need to exceed your permitted limit, ie, a medical or family emergency, your car would not allow you to, even if you were prepared to pay a fine for doing so. Worrying, I think."

@learning2curve995: "I was told, in confidence quietly outside a dealership, that on two occasions cars with forward monitoring had stopped and would not go down the lanes to folks homes. We live in a very rural location and apparently two different cars stopped at the entrance to the respective owners lanes and would not go forward. Take that as you will. I believe he was a serious chap who was relating what his customers told him."
