Hope For Humanity (ARC): Challenges facing the West – The liberal democracy in US faces threats from within.

Liberal democracy around the world is in trouble for three reasons:

1) the rise of illiberal democracy
2) threats from within
3) geo-political

There are four forms of degeneration: 

1) fiscal – the mounting public debts of Western democracies represent a fundamental breach in that contract between generations
2) market economies – under a growing burden of regulations issuing forth from the administrative state
3) rule of law – became more like the rule of lawyers
4) weakening of association of life – from the degeneration of educational institutions under a combination of excessive state power and a kind of ideological infiltration from within
