Food For Thought: Playing with the weather – Mother Nature will win (Hurricanes Helene & Milton).

"Under the heading of risk mitigation, part of that is your eyes are open. If your eyes are closed to what's happening and you want to believe you can click your heels twice and you can believe you're not in Kansas. Problem is it doesn't work. When your eyes are open you can become part of the solution, whatever that solution happens to be.

"If your eyes are closed and you just say the government is going to look after this and everything is going to be fine, there's a very high probability you'll be bankrupt and therein lies the problem. We're at the point now is you're beginning to see what we've been talking about in the last 45 days come through clearly as to what is happening in these disasters. These governments aren't capable, FEMA is not capable. They are not going to help you, they are not rescue you and if you planned on that as part of your risk mitigation you failed. You failed yourself, you failed your family, you failed your community. That's the reality. Human beings interacting with one another is fix. Not letting the government con you into something that they can't perform while having their hand out to pay them, your money is the problem."
