This means "Parents may not be consulted and wouldn't need to consent to their child's death via MAiD.… Many Canadians struggle with their mental health.… One in 10 people will wait more than 4 months for counselling. The waiting period fo MAiD is only 3 months." MAiD for mental illness is set to take effect in March 2027.
