The Great Reset: Riding the wave of anger to victory – Romania presidential election redo backfires on the globalist establishment.

George Simion of AUR is currently leading the Romanian presidential race, a redo election from November 2024, with 40.9% after the first round of voting. He attained 13.86% in last year's election and came in fourth. The front runner was the anti-globalist independent nationalist candidate Călin Georgescu who won with 22.94% of the votes. That election result was annulled after the first round with the Constitutional Court alleging that a Russian influence operation had impacted the vote. Declassified intelligence document states that Russia had run a coordinated online campaign to promote Georgescu. He was subsequently banned from running in the redo election this time around. George Simion took over the mantle from Călin Georgescu to lead the anti-globalist, anti-establishment movement.

Simion's Romanian election win in the first round sparks right-wing jubilation around Europe.

US is 'supervising' the Romanian presidential elections.

"The U.S. will provide critical election oversight for Romania's upcoming presidential re-run, following an unprecedented annulment of the previous election. With international tensions high, our observers will monitor the May 4th vote to ensure transparency and combat potential foreign interference. Eleven candidates compete for Romania's presidency, with nationalist George Simion currently leading polls.

"The election carries significant geopolitical implications, testing democratic resilience in a strategically important NATO member state. U.S. involvement aims to balance election integrity with respecting voter sovereignty."
