The Great Reset: Online Digital Harms Act (Bill C-63) – Canada declares war on internet freedom!

After the Online Digital Harms Act hung in limbo last fall due to Justin Trudeau's parliamentary prorogation and subsequently the federal elections in April, the previous Act died with the end of Trudeau's government. Now Mark Carney, the new prime minister, is resurrecting this Act to push through the House of Commons and Senate and have the Governor General grants Royal Assent.

This is the same kind of law that United Kingdom and Australia have passed recently.

"Canada has introduced Bill C-63, officially titled the Canada Digital Harms Act — and it’s one of the most dangerous pieces of internet legislation we’ve seen. Disguised as a bill to 'protect people from harmful content,' Bill C-63 gives the Canadian government sweeping new powers to regulate speech online, including what it calls hate speech, violent content, or anything it deems 'harmful.'

"It doesn’t stop there. The bill would create:
  • A Digital Safety Commission to enforce content policies
  • A Digital Safety Ombudsperson to 'advocate for victims'
  • A Digital Safety Office to support this entire censorship machine

"This isn't just about policing child exploitation or real threats, it opens the door to government-approved speech, mass surveillance, and algorithmic control over platforms. More regulation is coming. And if you think this will stay in Canada, you’re dead wrong."
