The Great Reset: Globalists and anti-globalists in bated breath – Javier Milei gains ground in parliamentary midterms elections.
The anti-globalist leader came out the winner. Javier Milei will continue his 'afuera' economic policies.
"Argentina held parliamentary midterm elections on October 26, seen as a key test of President Javier Milei’s ambitious economic reform program. Milei, who voted in Buenos Aires amid cheers from supporters, aims to consolidate congressional power to safeguard his fiscal austerity and pro-market agenda, which enjoys backing from the Trump administration.
"Earlier in October, the United States purchased Argentine pesos and finalized a $20 billion currency swap with Argentina’s central bank after high-level meetings in Washington. Opposition leader and Buenos Aires governor Axel Kicillof, heading the Peronist Fuerza Patria coalition, accused Milei of surrendering Argentina’s economic sovereignty to the U.S. and eroding citizens’ rights. He emphasized that Argentina’s future should be decided domestically. Preliminary results showed Milei’s party winning 40.8% of the vote versus 24.5% for the Peronists, securing 64 seats in the lower house—a strong showing that moves Milei closer to the 86 votes needed to prevent veto overrides."
@gamir97: " He actually passed the number needed of 87 congressmen to uphold his vetoes. The new legislators plus the one already in congress make it around 98."
