The Farmers' Protest: 'Illegal blockades' – Irish government sent in military to 'tame' farmers' mass protest.

"The Irish government are now deploying the military to tackle truckers and farmers protesting the destruction of their livelihoods. Irish government are quick to call on the army to deal with hard working indigenous Irish citizens, but do nothing to protect them from the thousands of men they are deliberately importing."

We're a country rich in oil, gas, and some of the best farmland in the world—so how have we ended up here? Our own government has sold off energy resources, allowed land to fall into foreign ownership, and piled pressure on Irish farmers with rising costs. There are now only around 200 commercial vegetable growers left in Ireland, with just a handful(5-10) producing crops like carrots at scale, while more and more of our food is being imported from across the world. If this continues and the last of our farmers are pushed out, we lose the ability to feed ourselves entirely. So where does that leave us—a country with the resources for independence, yet fully dependent on imported food because of government decisions?
