"A routine hearing quickly turns into a heated exchange as Rep. Brandon Gill questions a witness over polling data on religion, politics, and the Middle East. During the hearing, Gill cites survey figures claiming that 39% support making Sharia law the official law, 46% support creating a Muslim political party, 43% do not want Israel to remain a Jewish state, and 57% believe Jewish people have too much power in government. Rather than giving direct answers to these questions, the witness repeatedly redirects the discussion, leading to growing frustration throughout the exchange. The hearing centers on concerns about radical Islamist ideology, national security, religious freedom, public opinion, and how these polling figures should be interpreted."
