People Stand Up: Piddington, UK to become Piddington, USA? – English village voted to secede, plan to ask to join United States.

"On Tuesday the village of Piddington in Oxfordshire voted to leave the United Kingdom [see previous post here] in protest at plans to house 1,200 male asylum seekers in a former military site on the edge of the village. The parish council says that if the British government continues to ignore them they will formally ask to join the United States."
