Private Investigation: Canada's military supposedly planned scenarios of US invasion – Is this Carney's gov't propaganda to keep Canadians brainwashed?
"Eight months ago, the Globe and Mail ran ran a front page story essentially about the fantastical possibility that America could invade Canada and laying out that Canada's military was supposedly planning scenarios in such event.… You run a front page story with participation from Mark Carney's senior unnamed staffers in the Globe and Mail? And I didn't miss the coincidence that that was the same day that Mark Carney hours later after the Globe broke that improbable story, spoke in Davos about this great rupture with the United States. And so my expertise is looking at propaganda, disinformation, what's a real threat, what's a threat that may benefit a foreign power to disseminate a sort of narrative.
"I have a deep concern that one, the United States will not attack Canada. Two, there has been very damaging rhetoric going back and forth between Washington and Ottawa. And you know, I wouldn't absolve Washington of some very careless comments that have worked their way into Canada's mainstream consciousness abetted by the Mark Carney Liberals who used President Trump's 51st state rhetoric to to get Mark Carney elected. And our Canadian cognitive space has been totally altered around elections."
"Does anti-American political messaging help Beijing? Sam Cooper examines Mark Carney’s remarks about the United States, Canada’s defence relationship with its closest ally and the risks he sees in weakening that relationship. Jim Csek and Iain Burns ask Cooper about NORAD, political rhetoric, trade tensions and the historical use of anti-Americanism. Cooper discusses the distinction between evidence and inference, describing parts of his case as circumstantial. This clip contains his analysis and allegations alongside the hosts’ commentary."
