Gain of function is happening again! The Daily Mail found a study that was ready for preprint, meaning it is not peer reviewed yet but the study was done. In that study, scientists in Massachusetts and Florida combined Omicron with the original Wuhan strain to create a new deadly Covid strain and found that it killed 80% of mice. Playing with fire could spark a lab-generated pandemic all over again. Why?
